Welcome to Class 2
I hope you have had a lovely time over the summer and I am sure you are now ready to start the new school year, so welcome to Year 2!
Who are we?
My name is Miss Marsh and I am the year two teacher, and Mrs Kitchen is the teaching assistant and will be working with individuals and groups of children throughout the year.
Homework is set every Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. Your child will be sent home with a list of spellings relating to what we have been learning in phonics. Please encourage your child to practice them at home. The other piece of homework will have either a literacy or numeracy focus.
The children will be doing PE on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are clearly labelled. For health and safety reasons your child should not wear jewellery on these days, especially earrings. They must have appropriate footwear too, either trainers or pumps.
In class 2 we love to read! Reading with your child as often as possible is very beneficial, around 5- 10 minutes every day. Your child will have the opportunity to change their book every day. When they have read a book and had it signed, they can colour in a square on the 100 square in the back of their reading record. Different numbers means prizes!
Rewards in class 2!
We have lots of rewards in class 2 to praise fantastic behaviour! Children can earn chance cards, stickers and have the opportunity to work together as a class to fill the marble jar! A full marble jar can only mean one thing- PRIZES!
If you have any questions about this year, then please do not hesitate to ask myself, Miss Murray and Miss Abson we are more than happy to help on any matter big or small!
